Virginia Studies

We have been learning about the geography of Virginia. We now know the bordering states of Virginia, and have been introduced to the 5 regions of our state. As the next 2 weeks progress, we will continue to learn about the regions of Virginia as well as the larger waterways that are in the Old Dominion too. I will be posting a study guide in Schoology towards the end of the week in preparation of "checkpoints" and a test (at the end of) next week.

 It's all about VIRGINIA this year.  We will start the year with locating Virginia on the US map and learning the 5 regions in our great state.  We will then study the Indian groups that lived in early Virginia. Jamestown, the Relocation of the Capitol, Colonial Virginia, the American Revolution, and the Civil War will take us to the springtime. We will conclude the year learning about the 20th and 21st centuries in the Commonwealth - including our state government as well.
